oops! it appears that you have disabled your javascript. in order for you to see this page as it is meant to appear, we ask that you please re-enable your javascript! menu skip to content home contact search search for: new book featured / / 2 comments the new book is now available!! please click here to order on amazon . welcome to my new book!! i am so grateful for all of your support in this endeavor. the book has a collection of photos combined with a breathtaking display of god’s amazing love. the beauty and gentleness of god is evident throughout this book. here are excerpts from the book for you to view. enjoy! hello! featured / / leave a comment welcome! i look forward to sharing with you. my book is now available on amazon.com. i am excited to have this endeavor completed! it has truly been a journey. remember, you can also explore the photography website here . i look forward to everyone being able to view and enjoy! please contact me with any requests at lisa@lisaeckhardt.com, and i would love to hear your thoughts. act of kindness august 8, 2017 / / leave a comment to the woman who paid for my coffee this morning……..after waiting in a very long line at the drive through – thank you for your kindness! it was such a surprise to get to the window and learn that through your random act of kindness you had paid for my coffee. i don’t know who you are, and i am sure you had no idea how you would touch my heart……. thank you for making such an effort to show your love and make a difference in someone else’s life!! and thank you as well for the reminder to me that even though we live in a large, bustling, chaotic, and crazy world, that it takes one person, and one small act, to allow love to shine through and touch the lives of another in the simplest of ways. a simple act of love and kindness can make such a difference in moment, a day, a life…….. god bless you!! the path august 7, 2017 august 8, 2017 / / leave a comment not long ago i was enjoying a breathtaking hike on a mountain pathway. the day had been glorious, with perfect weather and amazing views. the destination on the hike was a beautiful waterfall. the day had been long, and time was growing short. the grade of the hike required breaks at times as the pathways were steep. the night was drawing near, and i knew i would have a long hike back down the mountain after making it to the waterfall. i had thought about turning back, but had gone so far on the hike that i was determined to make the destination. i was not equipped with night gear to safely make it back down the mountain, so i knew this had to be completed in the daylight. with urgency, i picked up the pace, knowing i had to move faster if i was going to be able to complete the hike. as i grew closer to the waterfall, the path became more treacherous. the path was wet in places, and it was filled with mud and rocks, causing the path to be slippery at times. portions of the pathway had steep drops with devastating landings at the bottom should one fall. i began to hear the rushing water of the falls indicating i was almost there. just as the waterfall came into sight, i rushed to get close enough to take in the view of the waterfall i had been trying to get to a large portion of the day. as i rushed, i lost my focus, and my foot slipped. i slid over some rocks and landed thankfully not too far down. in the process i had cut my ankle on the rocks and was now bleeding. the cut was stinging, and the wound was filled with dirt and mud. i had nothing to clean and dress the wound – another hard lesson. the dirt and mud that was in the wound continued to sting all the way down the mountain until i finally got to the car where the first aid supplies were located, and the wound could be cleansed. and it continued to sting as i washed it until the dirt and grime were gone, and i finally had some relief. this reminded me so much of the pathways present in our own lives. the pathways in our lives that we are to follow in our obedience to god, are placed there to keep us safe and protected. he does not provide pathways so he can be in control. the pathways were exquisitely designed for our safety and protection along the way, as well as for our joy. how many times in our own lives have we lost focus for just a split second, causing us to tumble to some difficult consequence? how often have we determined our own timing, proceeded with our own course, ignored any warning signs that were apparent? how many wounds have we received along the way, wounds that bleed and that cause a sting, because we have fallen off the path? how many times has the wound continued to painfully and persistently bleed, or to cause pain? have you experienced times when perhaps the wound remained filled with dirt and grime because of our choices? god’s pathway for our lives is present because he loves us and cherishes us. it is there for our safety and for our protection. but yet in just one small second, we can completely alter the course of our lives. it only takes a moment to lose focus, to step away from god, to walk away from his protection. sometimes this results in a small stumble, with a little bleeding and some pain. but sometimes this can result in tragic consequences, with life-altering results. the good news is he loves us now matter what, and he is there for us. it’s a choice to follow him, to learn and grow in his word, and to follow him every step of the way. he can cleanse our wounds, remove the pain, provide healing – complete and total healing. all we have to do is ask…… the beautiful sunset april 14, 2016 may 1, 2016 / / 1 comment have you noticed the most beautiful sunsets have clouds that provide richness in color, depth, and beauty? the sunset would not be the same without the addition of the clouds. the clouds shape the view, and provide a glorious and breathtaking scene. the clouds provide a view that one would never see without them. in our own lives at times, there are clouds. the clouds develop through times, circumstances, or happenings that we would never wish for, and certainly would never expect. i have come to learn that god allows the clouds in our own lives to shape who we are, to encourage us to trust him and have faith. the clouds that develop in our lives as we walk with god, also provide color, depth, and beauty in who we are and who we become. they change the view significantly as they roll through our lives with constant changes of the scenery. no longer are we just a plain sunset. we become a magnificent view, full of richness, shaped by the clouds of our own trials in life. the clouds cause us to look to god, to trust him, to have faith in him, to allow him to work. and as we do that, the composition and illustration becomes his work of beauty and strength that would never otherwise be possible. the song april 3, 2016 april 3, 2016 / / 2 comments last week i was outside early in the morning before sunrise. the trees were full of birds joyfully singing their song. there was a constant melody that sailed through the air. the skies were overcast, and a storm was slowly rolling in. in the distance i could hear the echo of thunder, and i could visualize the line of the storm on the horizon. i sat and listened to the birds just to absorb their beautiful composition. they continued to sing their melody despite the storm slowly moving in our direction. the melody never slowed or ceased, even as the echo of thunder became louder. it reminded me of our own lives. how often do we continue to sing with the storm on the horizon, and as we hear the echo of thunder in the distance? and how often do we continue to sing as the storm eventually comes crashing in? the birds never stopped even for one second, having full faith in their creator. god promises never to leave our side. he promises to be there during rain or shine, and during times of storm and times of peace. can we trust him during the storm?
